In a nutshell

An exploration of a six-image group project imagining an OK Computer album cover through a story of technological alienation: as one character draws the other into his virtual world, plastic becomes a symbol of their gradual absorption into the system.

Black-and-white portraits in white high-neck suits repeated and blurred across a pale wall.

(art direction)

The visual language begins with a contrast between two states. Low-key lighting, dark tones and plastic enclose him in a world he has already accepted; high-key lighting keeps her separate, exposed and more human.

As she enters his virtual reality, color and technological elements begin to disrupt that separation. Plastic shifts from a material surrounding him to a shared container that

ultimately holds them both. Through art direction, photography, makeup and styling, I helped shape this progression across the six images.

Faces layered and blurred in the dark, a man looking straight ahead among them.
Two figures in white suits, one turned away, the other looking over his shoulder.
A hand against a blurred silhouette on a white wall.
A man in a white suit against crumpled black plastic, a figure in shadow beside him.
A figure behind a sheet of frosted plastic, hands pressed against it.
A man fitting a white VR headset on a woman, both in white suits.
A woman crouching in the dark with an arm raised, a man standing behind her.
A woman in a white VR headset in the dark, a man behind her.
A woman lifting a VR headset in the dark as a man leans in behind her.
A woman with her fingers to her temples, plastic shining in her hair.
A man lying wrapped in clear plastic, a figure in white bending over him.
